Opening up Room 1 is MZ3, with roots in the Caribbean diaspora, they will be bringing their signature bass driven rhythms, dubby chants and psychedelic grooves. Closely followed by a very special first time b2b from Twist founder, Don-Ri, & Concussion head; Eva Loveless. Expect a heavyweight set focusing on grimey low-end frequencies and nonstop bass pressure.
Dubstep legend Commodo will be headlining the night. An artist with minimal online presence and who keeps mostly to himself, Commodo is one of an increasingly rare few who make waves through the strength of their music alone. His inherently unique and accomplished production style earned him recognition right from the outset of his ascendancy and garnered early attention from a host of key figures within the dubstep community; eventually landing at a natural home for his music, the bastion of low frequency excellence: Deep Medi Musik.
Closing out the night is Brooklyn based Brazilian-American producer and visual artist Andre Lira, aka Doctor Jeep. He has graced labels like TraTraTrax, Nerve Collect, Kaizen, SPE:C, as well as his own imprint DRX. He has been on Twist's radar for a minute and we can’t wait to see him shred the soundsytem. His productions and sets incorporate a fusion of elements from techno, DnB, classic dubstep, and music from the South American diaspora.
Switching it up for Room 2 is Japan-born, Brooklyn-based DJ/producer and co-founder of SINK SOUND… NINETY. Emerging from the Brooklyn rave scene, he delivers gritty, bass-driven sets shaped by raw UK-underground textures.
Next on the controls is Brooklyn local and label head Bloxam. He blends his low-end Croydon roots with percussive pressure from a wide range of genres.
Baltimore based Babypuff is a prime practitioner of DIY and bass music in the DMV scene. Her label and party series; Beatitude, champions both emerging and legendary artists, representing sounds from across the hardcore continuum. Her DJ sets are typically a fun blend of UK bass music, breakbeat, experimental, and dub, with a high caliber execution of building tension and release.
Headlining Room 2 is no stranger to Twist, making their long awaited return after 3 years. x3butterfly is a Mexican/American DJ and producer from Detroit, currently based in New York. Having drawn inspiration from early industrial and techno pioneers from the UK and Detroit, x3butterfly’s sets retain a raw and ominous quality, with a club twist. Prioritizing the eclectic, they often aim to take listeners on a story-telling journey while simultaneously keeping them on the dance floor. Their sets combine jungle, drum and bass, R&B, dubstep, techno, and other worldly sounds at 140-160 BPM.
Jumping on the decks next is 99 ranch, a Vietnamese American DJ. Resident at Subtle Radio and his own the Lava Recordings event series, he has brought selectors from across the world to NYC to share their warped rhythms and immersive sound design. His sets are shaped by adventurous turns and sharp percussion, always rooted in heavy low end weight. Get ready to hear subterranean bass explorations straight from the magma chamber.
Last but not least, NY based Snafu closes out Room 2. He is a DJ who specializes in deep cuts from the entire electronic spectrum. Snafu has worked at various record stores around New York and recently helped publish Trip MAGAZEEN 92-94 with Blurring Books.
