Join us on Friday, January 16th for a night rooted in deep listening, movement, and lineage. This one leans into the long arc of underground dance music, where house, techno, soul, and experimentation live side by side. In CARGO we welcome Analog Soul, the iconic identical-twin duo Jacquelyn & Kathryn Smith (aka Jacky Sommer & DatKat). With roots stretching from Bay Area art households to late-’90s LA dance floors and early-2000s New York record culture, Analog Soul brings decades of lived experience behind the decks. Their sound moves fluidly through deep house, Detroit techno, minimal, electro, acid, dub, and beyond always grounded in soul, rhythm, and intention. Longtime selectors and storytellers, their sets unfold patiently, rewarding dancers who stay present and curious. Opening CARGO is Tylerfromwhere, a Brooklyn-based DJ by way of the Midwest with a deep affinity for house, disco, R&B, and a whole lot of bass. Shaped by years on NYC’s nightlife circuit both in the crowd and behind the decks, his sets balance groove and pressure, moving patiently between classic dance-floor foundations and modern, low-end-driven selections. Drawing from the dance music of his youth (and cassette-tape discoveries pulled from his mom’s collection), Tyler plays with intention and range always tuned to the room, always in service of the groove. Come early, get loose, and let the bass do its thing. In the Foyer, John Swan works the turntables with raw skill spinning funk and breakbeat soul straight from the heart. His roots in deep crate culture, combined with years of NYC residencies and event production, give him the chops and selections to keep you moving and smiling all night.
