THIS EVENT IS +21 Florida has increasingly become an unsafe place for trans individuals due to the implementation of multiple anti-trans bans. For Black trans people and trans women, survival has become a daily struggle. Simple tasks like leaving the house or using public restrooms can be daunting. The new law, HB 1521, makes it a crime for someone to use restrooms or locker rooms that don’t align with their sex at birth. For many trans folks, they're also struggling to seek gender affirming care. SB254 bans gender-affirming care for folks under 26 years also mandates that adult patients seeking trans health care sign an informed consent form. While this ban is currently blocked by a federal judge, Planned Parenthood of South, East and North Florida have paused gender-affirming care appointments. Discrimination in employment further exacerbates trans peoples challenges, leaving them on the brink of survival. Sadly, many trans Floridians are forced to leave the place they have called home for years. With the financial crisis we are experiencing today, moving costs can be a huge burden, especially for trans people of color. To support Rae, Chaplin, River, and Opal, we are organizing a mutual aid party, Call To Action and launching a crowdfunding campaign with the aim of raising $8,000—$2,000 for each individual. All performers will be participating pro bono and donating their fee and 100% of ticket sales directly to this fund. Can’t make the show cause your busy in community?
