TSC Records & L'émission Indézine sur Radio Libertaire présentent : THE NAMES & THE FACTHEORY en concert à Paris au 103 QG Oberkampf THE NAMES (BE) Le groupe culte post-punk "The Names" a débuté à l'hiver 1977-1978 sous le nom de The Passengers, attirant immédiatement l'attention de la scène bruxelloise et de la presse locale. En 1979, après une série de concerts réussis et une étape cruciale en jouant en première partie de Magazine, ils enregistrent un premier E.P. (« Spectators Of Life ») qui suscite l'intérêt de l'important label de Manchester Factory Records. Leurs premières séances de studio mancuniennes (au Strawberry Studio de Stockport) débouchent sur le single « Nightshift » / "I Wish I Could Speak YourLanguage (fac 29). Il reçoit des critiques enthousiastes au Royaume-Uni et à l'étranger et marque le début d'une longue et fructueuse collaboration avec le producteur Martin Hannett. L'album « Swimming » et d'autres singles (les succès “Calcutta” et « The Astronaut ») ont suivi. Grâce à ces enregistrements et à des prestations scéniques à fort impact, The Names a acquis le statut de groupe culte de la scène post-punk. LTM Recordings réédite les sessions de Factory, Factory Benelux et Disques du Crépuscule sur différents albums (« Swimming + singles », « Spectators Of Life », entre autres). Après s'être reformé pour l'énorme succès de Factory Night en décembre 2007, le groupe bruxellois a depuis sorti un DVD live (« Nightshift », sur LTM) et quelques albums : « Monsters Next Door » (sur Str8line Records), « Stranger than You » (sur Factory Benelux) , « In Time » (Factory Benelux) et « German Nights » (enregistré en direct lors d'une tournée en Allemagne - Factory Benelux). En février 2025, " Encore ! ", un nouvel album (édition spéciale vinyle coloré -rouge ou blanc- + CD) est sorti sur Spleen+/Alfa Matrix. En décembre 2025, un nouvel EP est disponible, un 5 titres comprenant le remix captivant de « Procrastination » par Hard Facts. Et fin février 2026, un nouvel album (sur CD) intitulé « Balancing Chaos » sortira chez Alfa Matrix. Cult post-punk band “The Names” debuted in the winter of 1977-1978 as The Passengers, immediately attracting the attention of the Brussels scene and the local press. In 1979, after a series of successful concerts and a crucial step forward as support act for Magazine, they recorded their first E.P. (“Spectators Of Life”), which attracted the interest of the major Manchester label Factory Records. Their first Mancunian studio sessions (at Stockport's Strawberry Studio) result in the single “Nightshift” / "I Wish I Could Speak YourLanguage (fac 29). It received rave reviews in the UK and abroad, and marked the start of a long and fruitful collaboration with producer Martin Hannett. The album “Swimming” and further singles (the hits ‘Calcutta’ and “The Astronaut”) followed. Thanks to these recordings and high-impact live performances, The Names have acquired cult status on the post-punk scene. LTM Recordings reissued the Factory, Factory Benelux and Disques du Crépuscule sessions on various albums (“Swimming + singles”, “Spectators Of Life”, among others). After reforming for the hugely successful Factory Night in December 2007, the Brussels-based band has since released a live DVD (“Nightshift”, on LTM) and a number of albums: “Monsters Next Door” (on Str8line Records), “Stranger than You” (on Factory Benelux) , “In Time” (Factory Benelux) and “German Nights”. In December 2025, a new 5-track EP is released, featuring Hard Facts' captivating remix of “Procrastination”. And at the end of February 2026, a new album (on CD) entitled “Balancing Chaos” will be released by Alfa Matrix. Factheory (BE) Formation issue des cendres de nombreux groupes plus ou moins alternatifs des années 80, 90 et 2000 (Dirty Time, Conspiracy, Petit Futur, Amazing Games, Unsaid…entre autres) Factheory représente un compromis réussi entre une darkwave aux mélodies prenantes et un rock postpunk aux tendances électro assumées. Chanté tour à tour en anglais et en français suivant les inspirations harmoniques des chansons, le répertoire de Factheory semble avoir trouvé, après 7 années d’existence, et dans la stabilité de son line-up, une cohérence et une homogénéité, tant dans ses sonorités que dans sa démarche musicale. Ils se sont produits en ouverture de Clan of Xymox en 2021, de Christian Death et The Mission en 2022, de Da Geist (en 2023), de Guerre Froide, The Names et Martin Dupont courant 2024. Début 2025, il a également partagé la scène avec (The Actors, et à nouveau The Names). Leur 1er album "Serenity in Chaos" est sorti en février 2024. Il comporte 10 titres qui reflète l’évolution récente du groupe vers un darkwave atmosphérique aux résonances postpunk toujours présente mais dont ils auraient conservé la quintessence épurée : spontanéité et immédiateté des mélodies sur des arrangements de plus en plus élaborés. En octobre 2025 est sorti un nouveau single digital en collaboration avec Michel Sordinia de The Names. Bird Of Time est plébiscité par de nombreux médias spécialisés et est également disponible, en version vidéo, tourné à Bruxelles en novembre 2025. Facthoery travaille sur une compilation des 10 ans du groupe, prévue en mars 2026 ainsi que sur un second album prévu pour septembre 2026. Formed from the ashes of a number of more or less alternative bands from the 80s, 90s and 2000s (Dirty Time, Conspiracy, Petit Futur, Amazing Games, Unsaid... among others), Factheory represents a successful compromise between darkwave with engaging melodies and postpunk rock with overt electro tendencies. Sung alternately in English and French, according to the harmonic inspirations of the songs, Factheory's repertoire seems to have found, after 7 years of existence, and in the stability of its line-up, a coherence and homogeneity, as much in its sounds as in its musical approach. They opened for Clan of Xymox in 2021, Christian Death and The Mission in 2022, Da Geist (in 2023), Guerre Froide, The Names and Martin Dupont during 2024. In early 2025, he also shared the stage with (The Actors, and again The Names). Their 1st album “Serenity in Chaos” was released in February 2024. It featured 10 tracks reflecting the band's recent evolution towards an atmospheric darkwave with postpunk resonances, but whose purified quintessence they would have retained: spontaneity and immediacy of melodies over increasingly elaborate arrangements. October 2025 saw the release of a new digital single in collaboration with Michel Sordinia of The Names. Bird Of Time is acclaimed by many specialist media and is also available in a video version, filmed in Brussels in November 2025. Facthoery is working on a 10-year anniversary compilation, due in March 2026, as well as a second album due in September 2026.
