Coming up Jan 16th at Earthly Delights is the second edition of James Preston and John Barera’s High Seas, a party dedicated to musical, exploratory sounds and dance. Ridgewood and nearby music lovers and heads alike - pull up to see our dears, the most Real: DJ Slimey and Teeyam Expect a wonderful and warm musical trip from these two, we could not think of anyone more appropriate to uphold the free-wheeling musical spirit of the party. We are excited to return to this great new club in our neighborhood after a very fun debut party in the fall and hope to see you there. This will also serve as the EP release party for the debut EP from uniVerse (John Barera & Danny Lynch) on Barera’s Cross Street Music label, out the day of the party. Teeyam Drawing inspiration from his love for cinema, Teeyam’s DJ sets are captivating journeys that traverse through zones of brooding psychedelia, techno, electro, breaks, Acid and wave. He has an uncanny ability to weave together unique soundbites and samples, creating a sonic tapestry that captivates audiences and keeps them spellbound on the dancefloor. His sets are not confined to the familiar; instead, they explore the fringes of dance music, pushing the boundaries of sound with an unhinged groove that leaves no foot unshaken. DJ Slimey DJ Slimey is a multidisciplinary artist from Texas who has spent the last decade immersed in New York’s experimental art and music scene. Known in the New York underground rave scene for their immersive sculpture and light installations, DJ Slimey’s exploratory aesthetic informs their unexpected selections behind the decks. Their DJ sets delve into the outer realms of dance music, drawing inspiration from the avant-garde. With a sound described as “weirdo and occasionally esoteric, yet always groovy and psychedelic,” they craft a unique auditory experience that pushes boundaries while maintaining an undeniable rhythm. uniVerse uniVerse is a new project from John Barera and Danny Lynch. Their debut EP "Future Self in the Past", is out 1/16/24 Barera's Cross Street Music label. The uniVerse sound infuses the spirit of techno infused with backbones of live instrumentation. With Danny’s background in keyboards and John’s background in guitar and bass, the two have done their time in bands before gathering here. They combined forces in the studio to home their unique skills together, appreciating music from a wide variety of styles both old and new, and seeking tell their story with keyboards and drum machines. In the process, they have brought together a storming techno EP to kick off 2025. Byld Byld sets playfully bounce between jacking deep house, pounding prog, trance, new wave, disco and just about everything in between. The MA native turned New Yorker attended his first rave on Halloween 1999 and has spent the last batch of years carefully crafting a sound which encapsulates his experience on the dance floor over the last quarter century.
