As we continue the tradition of going Into the Void, I am excited to announce my first Weekender event!! TWO amazing artists for TWO nights!!! FRIDAY: We have MARK BROOM for his first Denver appearance! I hope you will join us as we go deep into techno and welcome him to the Mile High City along with Max Gardner our homie from San Fransico and our local favorite J Claus. SATURDAY: STEVE BUG, what can more be said about this amazing artist? I hope you will join us for DAY 2 with DJ Jacqueline and Chris Irvin. MARK BROOM: A truly prolific artist, he has a myriad of production credits to his name having worked with world-renowned labels such as Blueprint Records, Rekids, M-plant, EPM, Cocoon, Bpitch Control, Warp Records, and the legendary Ifach with Baby Ford. It all started in the summer of ‘89 when he landed in Tenerife on vacation and stumbled across the delights of the emerging sounds of Chicago and Acid House. Returning to the UK, he immediately went in search of this newfound music, a pair of turntables were bought and with it, a musical career was born. He has also had the pleasure of reworking material from artists such as Robert Hood, Floorplan, Alan Fitzpatrick, and Gary Beck. MAX GARDNER: The San Francisco DJ and producer did not initially pursue electronic music with ambitions to promote himself as a brand. Doors opened nonetheless, and they never stopped. He is now one of the artists most closely associated with Bay Area techno, releasing on labels like Occultists, Resource Records, and Northern Parallels. His often psychedelic, sometimes suspenseful, always hypnotic range of the techno spectrum has afforded him audiences in cities across the globe. He’s performed at clubs like MUTE in Medellin, Leland City Club and The Works in Detroit, Beta Nightclub in Denver, and Desterro in Lisbon. He is also a return guest at gatherings like DEPTH in Seattle and The Great Beyond outside Minneapolis. J CLAUS: is the pseudonym of Jordan Claussen. His first parties were rife with psytrance and DnB in cornfields and farms around the Midwest. These parties often had smaller soundstages featuring techno and house. His DJ career began after finding inspiration in psychedelic-focused techno. He started playing warehouse shows with production companies such as Solar Cathedral, Ekvilibrium, and The Code. After moving to Colorado, he has performed with crews such as The Underground, Eko House, Intimat, and Primeval. With mixes featured on Colorado’s Rocky Mountain Resonance podcast. He helped with the production of the Togetherland festivals. STEVE BUG: Germany‘s very own taste-maker, trend-setter, mover-shakerextraordinaire Steve Bug is a multi-faceted artist who refuses to back down from the limelight. A dedicated, energetic and constantly surprising talent, Steve is nothing less than an electronic.. 'Growing Up‘ in Germany‘s techno and acid-house heyday, Steve Bug‘s love for a perfect groove is as apparent now as it was back then. From the very early days DJjing in Bremen and Hamburg it was clear there was a strong talent waiting to be nurtured. With a bit of encouragement from Superstition‘s Tobias Lampe, Steve‘s very first productions were released in 1993 and his musical story began. Besides this his DJ skills and keen, innovative, ear led him not down the typical path of the early nineties trance and harder dance scene, but towards a fresher, hybrid sound merging stripped deep house, tweaked out acid and more minimal forms of techno. DJ JACQUELINE: DJ Jacqueline “aka Jackie Specht” moved to Denver, Colorado in 2005 where she continued rebuilding her DJing career in a new city with a new scene. She quickly landed in the graces of the DJ scene. She found a spot doing regular nights with SoCo nightlife and throwing events of her own. She was one of the key founders of the Great American Techno Festival, which lasted in Denver for several years. Jackie continued to get bookings opening for big artists such as Josh Wink, Collette, and Sandy Rivera. Although, she has proven time and time again that she can hold the night down by herself for long extended DJ sets. As the CEO of a local tech company, Jackie still finds time to share her love of music by contributing behind the decks at local events, and guest spots on big shows.
