One of the most visceral and unforgettable films of the year, Oliver Laxe’s SIRĀT stunned Cannes, where it earned both a Jury Prize and a Special Soundtrack Award. Earlier this month, it was selected as Spain’s official submission for the 2026 Academy Awards.
A defining force in the film is its hypnotic original score by Kangding Ray (Berlin-based composer, producer, and DJ David Letellier), whose genre-bending work bridges experimental sound and forward-thinking club music. His pulsing, elemental compositions form the heartbeat of SIRĀT, amplifying its haunting atmosphere and emotional depth.
Following a celebrated theatrical run across Europe, SIRĀT will have a one-week Oscar-qualifying engagement in New York and Los Angeles beginning November 14, before returning to U.S. theaters nationwide in early 2026.
