He originally rose to prominence in the legendary New York City goth/industrial scene—where he created and ran landmark club nights like Alchemy at CBGB and spun at venues like The Limelight and The Tunnel. In recent years, he has been active in South Florida, frequently organizing and DJing dark alternative events such as seasonal goth celebrations at Propaganda in Lake Worth Beach. About In a Darkened Room: In a Darkened Room emerged from the shadows in the winter of 2020. A trio conjuring a sound that was dark, sensual, and ever evolving. What began as an experimental journey became a love letter to the goth and new wave music of the 80s, a tribute to the artists who carried them through some of their hardest times. The band sent out to create a reflection of that influence and themselves while finding their own individual expression. From this crucible came a masonic tapestry of Gothic melancholy - songs, steeped in longing, love and loss within in a dream like haze. Each track pulsing with dance floor beats, rhythmic bass, and hypnotic baritone choir vocals. IDR first unveiled their dark mystery with “Sorrows” in 2023, a debut already regarded as an essential Goth rock release and companion for those grey, somber days. LAST GRASP: Last Grasp is a Gainesville, Florida-based darkwave, post-punk, and goth-revival project. Founded in 2021 by artist Matthew DeFeis, the outfit collaborates cross- continentally with Serbia-based producer Boris Stojanovic alongside touring and contributing members like Jaysik Smith and Lo Ormachea.
