Matt Edwards is a versatile DJ and producer whose work spans several distinct musical identities, each exploring a different side of dance music. As Matthew E, he draws on classic Chicago jackin’ house, fractured funk, and mechanical soul to create powerful dancefloor tracks. His Rekid project focuses on slower, more deliberate, rhythm-driven funk, while Quiet Village, his collaboration with Joel Martin, explores sample-based music ranging from disco-inspired experiments to atmospheric soundscapes. With Sea Devils, Edwards ventures into electronic pop, and as Radio Slave, his best-known alias, he is recognized for his inventive DJ sets, remixes, and re-edits.
Inspired by the first wave of acid house, Edwards built his reputation through DJ residencies and parties across the UK, beginning at London’s Milk Bar in 1992 and later performing at Ministry of Sound, Welsh free parties, and events in Brighton, where he has lived since 1998. His passion for re-edits eventually led him into music production, resulting in acclaimed remixes—including his celebrated reworking of Kylie Minogue’s “Can’t Get You Out of My Head” with New Order’s “Blue Monday”—and original releases on labels such as Skint, Soul Jazz, Classic, and Whatever We Want. Across his many projects, Edwards has maintained a commitment to dance music beyond genre boundaries, earning a reputation for creativity, musical depth, and an enduring influence on club culture.
Berlin-based Dutch producer and DJ Kevin Huizing, aka Budakid, developed his musical foundation as a drummer before moving into DJing and production. After earning an early residency in Utrecht, he began crafting his own sound, drawing influence from artists such as Joris Voorn, Stimming, Trentemøller, Massive Attack, Radiohead, and Caribou. His melodic style blends floating melodies, rich chords, and energetic grooves, earning him performances at festivals including Tomorrowland, Fusion, Sonar, and ADE, as well as clubs across Europe.
Budakid’s productions have been released on respected labels including Anjunadeep, Diynamic, Exploited, Last Night On Earth, All Day I Dream, Einmusika, and Lost & Found. His music has received support from artists including Solomun, Sasha, Joris Voorn, Guy J, Kölsch, Jazzanova, and Deadmau5, establishing him as a recognized force within the melodic electronic music scene.
