Né à Bârlad, en Roumanie, en 1997, il a grandi au bord des eaux saumâtres de la lagune de Venise, puis s’est installé à Bologne pour étudier la musique électronique au Conservatoire, et vit aujourd’hui à Milan. Rareş a choisi son propre prénom comme nom de scène pour se mettre en jeu et s’engager sérieusement dans la musique italienne, mais à sa manière : en retournant la forme de la chanson et en la rembobinant, dans un dialogue constant entre le passé et le présent, entre l’écho de la tradition mélodique des années 1960 et les sons électroniques, avec les synthés les plus synthétiques et les beats électroniques. En mars 2020, il fait ses débuts avec « Curriculum Vitae », qui lui vaut l’attention du public et de la critique : il rejoint l’affiche de MI AMI Ancora et se lance dans sa première tournée en solo, prouvant que la scène est son habitat naturel. L’année suivante voit naître l’EP « Folk_2021 », une exploration des formes et des émotions du néo-folk américain, le single « Crisi » et une tournée avec un groupe complet. Fin 2021, il participe au dernier épisode de l’émission Niente di strano, créée et animée par Carlo Pastore pour Tidal et BuddyBank. Après ces concerts, il retourne en studio pour composer son nouvel album « Femmina », sorti en mars 2023 chez Needn’t, enregistré à la fois en solo et avec ses amis et collaborateurs de longue date (Novecento, Colibree, Redmattre, Marco Giudici) et classé dans la liste des 50 meilleurs albums de 2023 établie par Rockit. L’album a été très bien accueilli par le public et les professionnels du secteur, ce qui lui a permis de partir en tournée, d’abord dans des clubs, puis dans les grands festivals italiens. En 2024, il collabore avec Cosmo sur le titre « Strano Deserto », présent sur l’album « MAYA » du DJ et producteur MACE, et le rejoint sur scène lors de son concert au Forum d’Assago, près de Milan, en octobre. Fin 2024, il participe à la Basta Session n° 5 aux côtés de Mecna, Fenoaltea, Goedi, Bongi et Alessandro Cianci. En mai 2025 sort « agosto », un titre coécrit avec Faccianuvola et inclus dans l’album « Il dolce ricordo della nostra disperata gioventù». « SINCERO ! », son dernier album, est sorti le 15 mai 2026 chez Panico Dischi, précédé des singles « Robina » et « Gatti ». °°° Born in Bârlad, Romania, in 1997, raised among the brackish waters of the Venetian Lagoon, then moved to Bologna to study electronic music at the Conservatory, and now based in Milan, Rareş chose his own first name as his stage name to put himself on the line and get serious about Italian music, but on his own terms: turning the song form inside out and rewinding it, in a constant dialogue between past and present, between the echo of the 1960s melodic tradition and electronic sounds, with the most synthetic synths and electronic beats. In March 2020 he debuts with “Curriculum Vitae”, which brings him to the attention of audiences and critics: he joins the line-up of MI AMI Ancora and embarks on his first solo tour, proving that the stage is his natural habitat.
