Local staple shop Second Hand Records takes over at Earthly! ** Hyanna Brazilian-born Hyanna has lived in NYC since she was 19 years old, sharpening her ear for music on the streets of the city and its underground dance floors. Her lifelong affection for music, dancing and their past and present subcultures coalesced into her work as a DJ, record store clerk, events curator and sound system tech. Hyanna’s sets express a range of emotions across her freshly schooled selections of disco, modern soul, gospel funk, jazz, electronic and world - all with an ear for instrumentality, messaging and surprise. Fatik Fatik lives, eats, sleeps music in every definition of its meaning. They opened a record shop in the heart of NYC 8 years ago called Second Hand Records NYC. They operate 4 record labels (Second Hand Records / Just What The World Needs / TRNWRK / Bring It Back) covering House, Disco, Leftfield, Techno, Reissues. They run a hi-fidelity, private-invite only dance space called Musicland, where they’ve invited a few names you might recognize such as Colleen ‘Cosmo’ Murphy, Tom Of England, DJ Spinna, Ge-ology, Tone Nimble, Rahaan, Mark Grusane, Lee Collins, Louise Chen, Donna Leake, & Carlos Suffrount… We’ve heard they're also a solid DJ to throw in for good measure. Sonrisita (Dublab) Sonrisita is a DJ and record collector based in Los Angeles, known for her multi-genre approach to DJing. Her sets, rooted in her foundation as a record digger, blend the new and nostalgic, creating a sonicscape that is visceral and evocative. Sonrisita cut her teeth as a drummer turned selector in the local punk scene in San Diego, playing between bands at gigs and house parties. Over the past decade, she’s performed across the US, Mexico, and Canada, opening for artists such as Quantic, Durand Jones and the Indications, and Dam-Funk. Notably, she’s working on a book based on her original research about the history of the iconic East Side Story oldies compilations. She’s also served as a researcher for the award-winning music podcast KCRW’s Lost Notes. You can catch her show “Butterfly Beat” on Dublab every second Tuesday from 12 PM to 2 PM PDT.
