Sis, also known as Burak Sar, discovered his passion for electronic music in a serendipitous manner. At the age of 21, while listening to DJ Karotte's mesmerizing Indian-style beats at Frankfurt U60 Club, Sis was instantly inspired, realizing that this was his destined path. Hailing from Michelstadt, southern Germany, Sis was deeply influenced by his musician father, who introduced him to a wide range of musical instruments and rhythms through his Turkish musical group. Initially, Sis pursued his musical endeavors in a rock band as a drummer. However, his life took a transformative turn when he acquired a pair of Technics 1210s and delved into the art of mixing. In no time, Sis honed his DJ skills and started performing at intimate clubs and parties in Frankfurt and Mannheim. Driven by a relentless passion, Sis expanded his horizons beyond DJing and began exploring the realms of production. Drawing upon his musical roots, he crafted a unique style of House Music that quickly gained recognition. In 2006, Sis made his mark with his debut release, the "Lilly from the Valley EP" on Amused Rec. This served as a stepping stone, propelling him forward. Subsequently, his EP "Voices of Istanbul" on 8bit Rec. captured international attention. However, it was his first EP for Cecille Rec., titled "La Garua/Orgsa," which became an instant sensation, selling out across Europe within a day. The momentum continued as Sis unleashed his bombastic track "Nesrib," the second release on Cecille. This infectious tune was met with overwhelming acclaim, garnering support from top DJs worldwide. It wasn't long before "Trompeta" emerged, solidifying Sis's status as a breakout star of the summer in 2008. Impressed by the track, Ricardo Villalobos decided to release "Trompeta" on his own esteemed label, Sei es Drum, which previously exclusively showcased Ricardo's own productions. Sis's rise to prominence was undeniable, earning him prestigious accolades such as "Producer of the Year" and "Track of the Year" in Groove Magazine's end-of-year poll, while Raveline recognized him as the #2 Live Act and Newcomer of the year. Fueling the hype, Sis delivered a string of well-received releases for Welcome to Masemenos and Connoisseur Recordings. Building on this success, he established his own imprint, Cocolino Records. The future shines brightly for Sis as he gears up to unveil his debut project with Get Physical Music in 2011, promising a slew of quality tracks and mesmerizing DJ/live sets on the horizon.
