Sound Lab aims to remove the frontier between the public and the artist, where senses and energies that we may seek for in the current cultural stage collide. Various musical styles will be showcased with, as a common essence, a musical awakening. About the artists: - Youmna Saba - @youmnasaba Youmna Saba (Beirut, 1984) is a musician and musicologist whose current research focuses on the musical dimension(s) of the Arabic language, as a tool to generate new methods of working with electronics. Youmna holds a master’s degree in Musicology, focusing mainly on the parallels between classical Arabic music and Arabic visual art. She has collaborated with several musicians, including the NeuVocalsolisten ensemble, Kamilya Jubran, Mike Cooper, Stephen O'Malley, Jean Marc Montera, Oiseaux-tempête, Tarek Atoui, Kyungso Park among others, and has participated in artist residencies at the Cité Internationale des Arts (Paris 2020-2021), Sharjah Foundation (2022), School for Sonic Memory organised by Le Mucem, Onassis Stegi and Theatrum Mundi (2022), Voce CNCM (Pigna Corse 2020), GMEM (Marseille 2020), Césaré CNCM (Reims 2020-2021), Hwaeom Spiritual Music Residency (South Korea, 2017), Sound Development City (Spain, Morocco, 2016), Gyeonggi Creation Center (South Korea, 2013). Some times referring to it as Noise Pop, His influences range from Suicide, Xiu Xiu, and Scott Walker to Baxter Dury and Gabe Gurnsey with a hint of Experimental Jazz and Saxophone. He is currently residing in Paris, France. Khodor’s musical journey started in 2010 when he and friends formed the band Beirut Scum Society drawing inspiration from the early punk movement. Kid Fourteen released his debut album “Dream Kids Never Sleep” in 2016 with Lebanese label Ruptured. 2 years later after touring and inviting Xiu Xiu to play in Beirut, a collaboration with Jamie Stewart directed Khodor to the label Pinyon, where he released his second album “Blood-thick Silence” and single ''Everybody wants a strong man'' in 2018. Khodor toured extensively between 2016 and 2019, and shortly after, his long-time companion Karim Chams officially joined Kid Fourteen. By the year 2020, Khodor recorded, arranged, mixed, and mastered his third and most recent album “Love.” It was re-released on Red Vinyl in 2021.
