On May 17th, Tamango Records lands in New York for an open-air showcase at Ridgewood’s H0L0 Yard, led by the label’s founder Yaya. With roots in Turin and heritage tied to West Africa, Yaya’s music embodies a global pulse, rolling basslines, crisp percussion, and a dub-influenced take on minimal house. From DC-10 to Watergate, his presence on the decks is both commanding and fluid. Since launching Tamango in 2016, he’s curated a catalog that speaks to DJs and dancers alike, tapping artists like Cuartero, Rich NXT , and Alexis Cabrera. For this special NYC appearance, Yaya delivers a pure expression of the label’s ethos, tight grooves, stripped-back production, and undeniable rhythm.
