The Front Invites Mad Mac And Friends

madmac is the DJ project of Filipe Macedo, who spends his daytime building noticed, a personal networking agent. The two disciplines share a problem: how a room of strangers turns into something less anonymous. On the decks that logic shows up as pop hooks inside deep house tempos and classic club records played straight. Music friendly enough for the front row, serious enough for 3am. His first original track, "Strangers," came out in 2014 on Nightbird Music. The record split in two: a pop vocal and an underground dub, one track making both arguments. Pop and underground, holding hands. Based between Lisbon and New York, madmac has been making people dance since 2009. He came up through the Lisbon scene with sets at Lux, Plano B, Musicbox, MTV Insomnia, and two appearances at Rock in Rio Lisboa. Along the way he shared booths with 2ManyDJs, Cut Copy, Tiga, Duke Dumont, Skrillex, Claptone, and Flight Facilities. He was also half of Lovely Bastards, a duo with DJ and actor Nuno Lopes. Outside the booth, he featured in Nike Sportswear's "Bleed Your Colors" campaign with Cristiano Ronaldo (2010).
