November 30th We are Zero welcomes KaterBlau's staring crew Pauli Pocket and Midas 104 with local hero Chico Vilaca to set up the mood of magical Mirari Pauli Pocket (Berlin) A couple of years ago Pauli Pocket was still pulling her records out of a plastic shopping bag with which she brought the dance floor in motion. Money can buy you a record case but not the right attitude! In the meantime she’s cleaned the slate and rearranged her medium. Digital feels good. As a self ironic take on this name, Willi Schumacher aka Midas 104 renes his insatiable thirst for new tones until a golden sound pours onto the dance floor.The young Berliner started to write lyrics and produce hiphop beats while in High school.The combination of melodies, drums and bass-lines got him very excited at that time andslowly a small studio with synths and analogue toys began to develop in his lounge. As a runner in Berlin club ‘Kater Holzig’, he gained insight into the microcosmos of electronic dance music. It was there that he curiously listened to the sets of Kater’s DJs. He was most fascinated in the music’s ability to transport mood and feelings without the usual misunderstandings of language. His melancholic driving style of deep house crystallised and he found approval through his releases on URSL, Einmusika, Dantze, Katermukke and Parquet. Music-wise, Midas captivates with his thoughtful arrangements of strong bass drum, harmonic melodies and dreamy synths which he combines in thrilling arcs of suspense. Not being influenced by electro trends of recent years, the virtuosic newcomer delievers proper cool honest sound. Midas presents his meticulousness for producing in his atmospheric live sets across Europe.
