ASH LAURYN & FRIENDS: Ash Lauryn balances between two worlds, with an old-school foundation and a digital age suaveness, blending her skills as a deejay, writer, curator, and radio host to champion black dance music. Discovering her passion for music in her native Detroit, she was inspired to start deejaying in her current residence in Atlanta, taking inspiration from her years on the dance floor as a self-proclaimed house head. After noticing a lack of representation for Black millennials in electronic music, Ash started her blog Underground and Black, which has since grown into a wide-ranging platform covering her annual Movement Festival party in Detroit, and monthly NTS Radio show. Her passion for music has led her across the globe, playing headline gigs in Tokyo, Paris, Ibiza, and beyond. She has also played at notable dance music institutions like Nowadays New York, Panorama Bar Berlin, and Printworks London. Ash has shared bills with esteemed artists like Joe Claussell and Moodymann and graced the decks at world-renowned festivals like Movement Detroit, Southport Weekender, and Montreux Jazz Festival. Her writing has appeared in The Face Magazine, Mixmag, and Resident Advisor, and in 2020 she served as a guest editor for Beatport’s online magazine Beatportal. She has interviewed everyone from Honey Dijon to the late Virgil Abloh and recently curated a line-up for Boiler Room Festival New York. Ash released her highly acclaimed debut EP Truth, co-produced with Stefan Ringer in September 2021 on FWM Entertainment, and has since released remixes on respected house music labels like Heist, Toy Tonics, and Defected. Quickly becoming a staple on the international tour circuit, Ash is actively touringthe US, UK, and Europe. JADALAREIGN: To anyone who devotedly follows her, JADALAREIGN's meteoric rise in New York's underground scene comes to no surprise. The New York native's staunch effort to preserve the origins of Black American dance music has made her synonymous with the city's emergent house renaissance. Her expansive mixes are suffused in an indefinable funk, rifling through house history, disco and techno—punchier sounds occasionally softened by hazy soul and sumptuous jazz. It's a dynamic and encyclopedic style that looks to the Northeast, the Midwest and the diaspora to pay tribute to the Black musicians, old and new, who crafted this culture from the ground up. JULIET MENDOZA: Juliet has a true deeply rooted connection to LA house music culture. She is the Founder and resident DJ of Jill’s House aka Jackin Jills (@jillshouse_la ), has shared decks with Doc Martin, Marques Wyatt, Riva Starr, Colette, Dj Heather, Peggy Gou (to name a few). Her unique style of delivering melodic, soulful and deep sounds, has taken Juliet above and beyond the boundaries of Los Angeles and the U.S to headline several international cities: Amsterdam, Paris, MX City, MX Tulum, Las Vegas, San Francisco, Portland, San Diego. Her journey has also given her the opportunity to become an Unsung Hero Winner for Defected Records becoming a resident and joining the Unsung Heroes Crew for 2022.
