Elijah Fox is a multi-instrumentalist, singer, and producer based in Los Angeles, CA. Originally from Durham, North Carolina, Fox began playing piano at the age of 11. He was mentored early on by the late Yusuf Salim, a renowned pianist who once played alongside jazz legend Charlie Parker. Under Salim’s guidance, Fox began performing in local jazz clubs, laying the foundation for his deep-rooted connection to jazz and improvisation. He went on to study piano at Oberlin Conservatory, where he trained under acclaimed musicians such as Sullivan Fortner, Billy Hart, Dan Wall, and Gary Bartz. After graduating in 2017, Fox relocated to New York City, continuing to hone his craft and expand his musical reach. Fox’s piano composition “East Village” was famously sampled by Drake and 21 Savage on the track “Major Distribution,” which peaked at No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 100. His work as a producer and session musician includes collaborations with a diverse roster of artists, including SZA, Masego, YG, ScHoolboy Q, Denzel Curry, Tate McRae, Musiq Soulchild, Childish Gambino, Kali Uchis, J. Cole, and many more. In addition to his collaborations, Fox continues to release his own original compositions and sample packs, further establishing his voice in both the producer and composer realms. His impressionistic piano piece “Wyoming” became a viral sensation on TikTok and has since amassed over 20 million streams on Spotify. Signed to Universal Music Publishing Group (UMPG) as a writer and composer, Fox maintains a steady output of genre-blurring material. His sound is a distinctive blend of jazz, Impressionist classical influences, and psychedelic soul. Fox also tours internationally as the keyboardist for UK drummer and producer Yussef Dayes, with performances spanning stages across the globe. As a solo artist, he has played sold-out shows throughout the U.S. and Europe.
