The sextet Buntspecht has a penchant for the in-between. Their dynamic music swings from euphoria to melancholy, from lightness to dark romanticism. The genres they draw on are as wide-ranging as their instrumentation. Here, identity seems to be something fluid. But as we all know, writing about music makes about as much sense as photographing a lavish buffet. You see with your ears, your mouth, your hands and your feet. In April 2027, Buntspecht will embark on their EINGANG / AUSGANG TOUR 2027. The tour will take the Vienna-based sextet through Germany, France, Luxembourg, Switzerland, the Netherlands and Austria. Along for the ride: new music set to be released in 2027, marking the next step in a musical universe that consistently defies any clear-cut categorisation. Live, all of this becomes an immediate, physical experience: music to listen to, dance to, dream to and drift away with. An entrance, an exit – and everything Buntspecht make of the space in between.
