College Verified & Open House present OPEN DECKS: A college-focused DJ open decks competition designed to discover new talent and award paid residency opportunities. 📍 Location: 204 SW 2nd St, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33301 📅 Date: January 15th ⏱️ Doors: 9:00 PM 🎟️ Tickets: Free for all DJs and attendees 🥳 18+ to party 🥂 21+ to drink -- Event Information -- Open Decks is a live, in-person DJ competition where selected DJs get 30-minute sets on a professional club system. The DJs who perform best—based on in-person audience voting—will be added to the residency pool for Nowhere’s new college rave night, earning a future 2-hour timeslot. -- How Registration & Selection Works -- All DJs must RSVP online before the event. Registration remains open all night, but early arrivals are prioritized by the system. Upon arrival, DJs must check in with staff to be officially entered into the DJ pool. Names are drawn at random every 30 minutes from 10:00 PM to 3:00 AM. If your name is selected, you will receive a text message approximately 10 minutes before your set time to prepare. If selected, DJs are given a 30-minute set to perform. You are responsible for bringing your USB. Standard club equipment will be provided. Ten minutes before the end of each set, a QR code will be displayed on screens throughout the venue. Attendees scan the code and vote using a star-based rating system to score the DJ’s performance. Voting is live and in-person only. Eligibility Rules • Must be at least 18 years old to attend or DJ • Must be 21+ to drink • DJs may only play house music, as we are a house music venue • DJs must be currently enrolled in a college within the tri-county area • Non-college DJs are allowed if they are between the ages of 18–24 • All attendees and DJs must RSVP for entry This is a free, competitive, performance-based opportunity designed to reward real crowd engagement and real skill—no online voting, no pay-to-play, no gimmicks.
