House in the Burbs started as a small group of old school, vinyl-loving DJs jamming in the basement and has grown into a quarterly vinyl experience. Now, we’re stepping out from the "House in the Burbs" to a secret underground Denver location to share some of the magic we've been nurturing. For this 3-year anniversary party, we’re bringing you Oakland legend Hector Moralez with support from residents Liza Spinnelli and Kacey S. Join us for this all-vinyl night of curated sounds and vibes and allow us to link your ears to your heart to your feet and move your soul. We believe in the power of house music to bring people together, to bridge differences, and to create family. The dance floor should always be a place of feeling, of healing, of letting go, of holding on, of safety to be yourself, or to find yourself. We are queer, straight, gay, white, black, brown; we are everything, and nothing. We were all strays but, in the underground, we found each other and built a house in tribute to Jack. 21+ Safe space for everyone. Harm prevention is a life saver. Respect the music and others - keep the phones and the conversation off the dance floor. We have ZERO TOLERANCE for racism, misogyny, homophobia, transphobia, sexism, ableism, and aggressive behavior. Consent is MANDATORY in all interactions. Violation of this policy will have you removed and banned from all future events. If someone is acting in a way that makes you or others feel uncomfortable, please find a member of our staff. Wish a happy birthday to all the Leos in the crew: Kacey S, Liza Spinnelli, Brick Lee, Shannon Von Kelley, Funk Hunk, and Bobbie (Abq). Hector Moralez is a DJ, music producer, and one of the key figures in the underground house music scene, known for his influential work across sub-genres like house, techno, acid house, and tech house. Hailing from Oakland, California, Hector’s musical journey began in the 1990s, inspired by the diverse music culture of the Bay Area - a city known for its rich fusion of hip-hop, funk, and house. These early influences became the foundation for his distinctive sound, blending funky grooves with soulful undertones. Hector’s passion for music led him to start DJing and producing at a young age, quickly earning a reputation for his infectious energy and creative mixing. His style draws heavily from the sounds of Chicago house, Detroit techno, and West Coast funk, while still pushing boundaries and embracing innovation. As a DJ, Hector has earned the respect of global audiences, known for his ability to connect with crowds through his dynamic performances and carefully curated sets. Over the years, Hector has played at some of the world’s most renowned venues, including The End Club and The Egg Club in London, The End Up and 1015 Folsom in San Francisco, and The Rex Club in Paris. His long-running Get Underground night at Club Six in San Francisco further solidified his status in the scene, creating a space for underground music lovers to experience unforgettable nights. With residencies at iconic nightclubs like The Rex Club in Paris and Sankeys in Ibiza, Hector continues to inspire new generations of DJs and producers with his commitment to authentic house music. His music is celebrated for its deep, soulful feel, technical brilliance, and timeless energy, maintaining a strong connection to the roots of underground dance culture while pushing it forward into the future. Liza Spinnelli came up in the Chicago party scene of the late 90’s and that influence is solidly reflected in her music. She describes her sound as microhouse with a dash of diva, booty-shakin’ basslines and a hefty dose of weird. Anthems will get unabashedly thrown in because they shouldn’t live only in the collective memory of Gen X party kids. Vinyl is a way of life. She started buying records in the late 90’s and she started with drum and bass; quite likely the musical rebellion of a Midwesterner who grew up with Bad Boy Bill on the radio. In the early 2000’s she moved into electro and techno and, by 2010, had slipped into what we now know as microhouse and minimal techno. The Chicago flavor is unmistakable but she chases some of those peculiar noises that are very reminiscent of DnB and electro. She started House in the Burbs 3 years ago and is excited to share this next phase with you. Kacey S started raving in Los Angeles in 1997. He moved to Denver in 2000 and started his DJ and vinyl journey at that time. He has been whipping up dance floors in the Denver scene for a while and if you haven’t caught him on vinyl yet, don’t miss this chance! Kacey S is often seen on dance floors all over town supporting the underground scene. He’s a proud member of the House in the Burbs crew. Kacey S can’t wait to dig into his collection and play some of his favorite sounds to tantalize your ears and move your body!
