Trombonist, singer, and composer Josiel Konrad will be one of the featured Brazilian artists at the International Trombone Festival 2025, where he will present his original album Boca no Trombone. With a solid and acclaimed career, Josiel has been recognized for his ability to blend jazz with Brazilian popular music, creating a unique and contemporary sound.
Boca no Trombone will be a fully original album, featuring 13 tracks that combine jazz with the sounds and social themes of Brazil’s urban outskirts. The project will also feature a guest appearance by acclaimed American trombonist Marshall Gilkes.
At the festival, Josiel’s performance will feature a special guest appearance by Brazilian trombonist Felipe Brito, in a concert that promises to showcase the creative and collaborative strength of Brazilian instrumental music on the international stage.
Throughout his career, Josiel Konrad has performed at major venues in Brazil and abroad. International highlights include Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club (London, UK), Club Passing Clouds (London, UK), Jazz a La Calle (Montevideo, Uruguay), and LX Factory (Lisbon, Portugal). In Brazil, he has appeared at iconic venues and festivals such as Circo Voador (RJ), Festival Sai da Rede, Festival Casa Light 120 Anos, Búzios Jazz Festival (RJ), Paraty Jazz & Blues (RJ), Jazz no Castelo (BA), Rio Scenarium (RJ), Santa Cruz do Sul Jazz Festival (RS), Jazz Day Santander (RS), Jam no MAM (BA), and Sesc Vila Mariana (SP).
