Consent is an ongoing, active process that must be freely given each time, and a past or current relationship does not imply consent for future acts. 2. Our trained Guardians and monitors will be wearing a neon wristband to be easily identified in the space for comfort and support. 3. No phones or photography will be allowed. 4. No smoke or fire of any sort will be allowed in the space. 5. Harm reduction team and supplies available on-site. 6. There will be a medic on site for the duration of the event. 7. Through our annual MIX FEST and year-round programming, we are committed to showing films that challenge conventional filmmaking practices, test bold ideas, and offer insight into the wide, evolving array of queer experience. MIX NYC was founded by author Sarah Schulman and filmmaker Jim Hubbard out of a need to make space for the lives and lens-based work of queer people during the onset of the AIDS epidemic. Today, we continue to provide opportunities for queer experimental filmmakers, and serve as an incubator for creativity by fostering collaboration, innovation, and dialogue amongst a community that seeks and values it. Read more about our history here. MIX is an environment that centers queer and trans experience. We will not tolerate any homophobia, transphobia, racism, misogyny, islamophobia, antisemitism, fatphobia, or discrimination or harassment of any kind. MIX stands unequivocally in solidarity with the people of Palestine. -
