Broad St 21+ SATURDAY APRIL 18 - RICHMOND, VA We gather at LOSO where artist, producer, label head and NO VISA curator Alec Lomami brings the expansive musical palette of the African diaspora to Richmond, VA, the former capital of the Confederacy. Raised in Kinshasa and based in North Carolina, expect Alec to tap into a sonic tapestry of club sounds from the Congo, Cameroon, Ivory Coast, Angola, South Africa and beyond. Rounding out the club room is a cast of frequent BLACK TECHNO MATTERS collaborators. Hometown duo EVILOGIK kicks it off with their signature high-energy, genre-hopping sound. Meanwhile NILE ASHTON (one-half of the power DJ duo Secret Handshake) brings his audacious club sound that’s not for the faint of heart, laced with electro, breakbeat, techno and more. On the patio, things get spacey and weird as STARSHIP TRUTH and Black Techno Matters founder B_X_R_N_X_R_D pull deep cuts from the crates for all vinyl sets all night. ——— LOSO Safe Space Policy ——— LOSO is a place for music lovers and dancers to come and express themselves freely.
