Paradise Garage
The name comes from the legendary Paradise Garage in New York, a club that played a key
role in shaping modern dance music culture. It was known for its focus on the dancefloor, its
sound system, and its openness — influencing what would later become house music.
Its resident DJ, Larry Levan, became one of the most important figures in that evolution. His
sets moved across disco, soul, early electronic sounds, and experimental records, helping
define the direction that led to genres like Deep House and Soulful House.
The focus is on the musical lineage: from disco and garage to early house, and into the
deeper and more soulful strands that followed.
A context-driven session built around where the sound comes from and how it developed.
On Sunday, April 12th, from 15:00 to 22:00, at Micro Club (downstairs), this session takes
that history as a starting point.
See you there.
