FREE ZINES & MUTUAL AID. On Friday, May 30th, join rave cafe & friends for the NY drop of our fourth & final zine in the menu series. Come grab a copy, learn about DE-GROWTH, and tap in with four grassroots orgs doing essential mutual aid work in the city. Music by: dj beans, Miss Alicia, Ziggazao, and Janus Rose. Tabling by: DJs Against Apartheid - launched in February 2024 with the mission of building organizing power in nightlife to fight for Palestinian liberation, leveraging cultural spaces as commons for facilitating resistance, and establishing mutual aid with those in Gaza. Astoria Food Pantry - a 100% volunteer-run MUTUAL AID COLLECTIVE on Steinway Street in Astoria, Queens that distributes FREE GROCERIES, runs a FREE STORE, hosts FREE SOCIAL and EDUCATIONAL EVENTS, offers FREE LANGUAGE CLASSES, and maintains a space for ALL neighbors to come together under the common goal of bettering each other's lives. Brooklyn Jail Support (BKJS) - an abolitionist community gathering offering hot food and supplies every Friday outside 120 Schermerhorn. Fridge Finder - a web app that tracks community fridges, which serve as nutritional access points that distribute free food through refrigerators located on public sidewalks. FridgeFinder.App displays data on fridges in New York City, with global expansion currently in development.
