Shay De Castro is one of the most thrilling techno talents emerging from the United States, known for her high-energy, peak-time sound that merges relentless intensity with melodic depth. With releases on some of the most respected techno labels - including Factory 93, Kraftek, Respekt, and mau5trap - and support from Amelie Lens, Adam Beyer, ANNA, and Richie Hawtin, she is carving out her own lane in modern techno with a fierce commitment to artistic authenticity. A self-made artist from Boise, Idaho - far from the world’s techno capitals - Shay’s rise has been one of pure passion, perseverance, and a unique sonic identity. Inspired by the euphoria of trance and the raw power of peak-time techno, she developed a signature style that balances ferocity with emotion, captivating audiences worldwide. Shay’s latest work, “Unclose Me” (out on Kraftek), is a collaboration with Pleasurekraft. A poetic, borderline-romantic techno piece, it reflects Shay’s deep connection to literature and lyricism, and showcases her ability to channel raw emotion into the dancefloor. It marks another step forward in her evolution as a bold, genre-defining storyteller in techno.
