Ritual: Day Into Night With Dj Minx + Dee Diggs / Livwutang + Ak

Ritual continues their run at 233 with an extended-hours party between The Atrium and The Sound Room. Starting off under the skylight, Detroit’s DJ Minx, founder of Women On Wax, spans minimal house and brooding techno, old-school funk and full-bodied tech, with a controlled ability to find and lock into the groove. It’s always a treat to have her. She is joined by Dee Diggs, who represents the next generation of Black house music. Through her House Of Diggs parties and unflinching commitment to baring soul on the decks, she has shined the light back onto the dancers: the disco queens and ballroom kids who created these spaces. As the sun goes down, livwutang and AK take us into the deep and sensual. AK, recently admitted to Detroit's Underground Music Academy, is a regular between some of the best clubs and parties in The Motor City and New York. Where she develops groove with euphoric breaks and seductive vocal cuts, livwutang’s sound combines house and techno with various shades of dub. Ritual is a Sunday, queer-friendly dance party where everyone is welcomed and celebrated. The foundation of house music was built upon by the Black and Latinx communities in queer, liberated spaces. Ritual centers Black and Brown artists, uniting established and emerging DJs to honor the essence of music. Our goal is to unify, liberate, and transcend our sacred space of the dancefloor. - Public Records aims to provide a safer space.
