For our inaugural Study Hall session, we host 1morning. Emerging from LA’s underground DIY dance music scene, 1morning has set himself apart from his peers becoming a beacon inspiration for techno producers and DJ’s by keeping the historical context of techno alive. Inspired by the pulsating beats and intricate rhythms of 90s techno from labels like Bush, WetMusik, and Ingoma, his music production and DJ sets have become refreshing history lessons for the ever expanding state of techno. 1morning’s music is a unique blend of old-school and new-school techno, incorporating the raw energy and driving beats of 90s techno with the modern production techniques and futuristic soundscapes of contemporary techno. His DJ sets are full of tension and momentum out of the grooves of his collection of 90’s vinyl and remains versatile throughout his selection of hard, funky, and dynamic tracks. His undeniable knowledge of crowd work and passion for techno music manifest itself in the range of sounds represented in his selection of tracks.
