Track Maintenance is returning for something new this winter. On February 28th, TM will take things indoors at a new location, with new lights, new stage design, and the debut of the Third Rail Soundsystem (tm). Track Maintenance is thrilled to showcase four special selectors: Joining all the way from Detroit is TM dear friend and machine funk master Miguel Cisne. Miguel is an unsung hero of the contemporary Detroit Techno underground and an incredible DJ. He is one-third of the Moods crew that organizes a fantastic mix series-newsletter and unmissable events. He also organizes Club Diffuse, a multimedia project that stretches beyond the conventional "DJ night" medium. He's a rare talent who is both a heady DJ's DJ and also somehow who is uniquely capable of evangelizing the power of techno to newcomers and nonbelievers. Likewise, TM is thrilled to invite Eugenia. Having come up in the Bay Area's rave scene, after just a few short years in NYC, Eugenia has organized the much loved (and now much missed) Recess party series with como se DJ. She's known for sets that are dynamic, shimmering, playful, and textural as she disregards genre in favor of energy and theme. A clear throughline of her work as both a DJ and an organizer is the same rave-ethos that drives TM: experimentation over idleness, accessibility over exclusivity, and community over individualism. Eugenia also runs a mix series, "the shape of memory," that explores memory as a living, breathing being that influences our feelings and sense of self. Rounding out the lineup are two of your trusted TM conductors (and co-founders), Roni and Buzi. Roni is a New Yorker with a thirst for track-digging and a taste as eclectic as his home city; UK bass, DR reggaeton, Levantine dabke, Turkish pop, and soulful house are all staples of his impossible-to-pigeonhole sound. Buzi is also from New York and likewise draws from many influences — one of the most prominent being the delay-rich sounds that follow in Dub's wake. Some tickets will be reserved at the door, but securing an advance ticket is the only way to guarantee entry. This is a DIY event and your ticket helps sustain us. However, as always, no one will be turned away for lack of funds (email Track.Maintenance.NYC@gmail.com to get in touch).
