Where Is Rocky II: Pierre Bismuth

Cloud Seven invites you to the screening of Where is Rocky II (2016, 93’), a film by Pierre Bismuth, followed by a Q&A with the artist. The story goes that one day American artist Ed Ruscha left a rock in the Mojave Desert. Except this rock wasn’t real. It was a sculpture, an artwork that no one has ever been able to find again. Hidden somewhere among thousands of stones, it may still be out there, waiting to be discovered. Intrigued by this legend, Pierre Bismuth decides to go looking for it. He brings together a private detective and two Hollywood screenwriters to help him uncover the truth. The result is Where is Rocky II, a film that mixes investigation and fiction, humor and suspense, turning the search for an artwork into a playful reflection on storytelling, mystery, and the value of art itself. The screening will be followed by a discussion with Pierre Bismuth himself, offering audiences the chance to hear directly from the artist about the film and his work. The conversation can then continue informally over a drink at the bar.
