Ever wanted to try a modular synth? Now’s your chance! No experience needed—just bring your curiosity. Modular Synthesizer Beginners Workshop: This workshop is for anyone who’s interested in learning about modular sound synthesis, instructor Eden Grey will introduce you to the world of modular synthesis – from the basics of patching to the interplay between oscillators, filters and gate systems. No prior knowledge is required, all you need is yourself and the love of sound design. Feel free to ask questions, while you have the chance to try out different components of modular systems, and chat with other sound enthusiasts. You will have guided hands-on experience while starting a patch from the ground up. Class Objectives: Participants will learn about the functions and basics of sound synthesis. In this workshop session, you will have hands-on guidance through custom synthesizer equipment, and learn how to get creative with sound design, while learning about the process of recording the modular synthesizer and how to implement the recordings into your own music productions. Class participants can also get the necessary information about what components they will need and how to get started building their own eurorack modular synthesizer.
