On July 20 at 8:00pm, Youmna Saba (lebanese musician, composer and musicologist) will perform her goodbye letter to her home. Her latest project 'Wishah' ('veil' in Arabic) was created after she left Beirut to settle in Paris.
'Wishah' is informed by rigorous research in the sonic properties of sung Arabic phonemes and their role in shaping synthesised electronic sounds. The album employs a digital extension for the Oud, this device enhances the Oud’s sonic range, seamlessly integrating synthesised electronics.
The concert will be followed by a discussion between Youmna Saba and Joseph Ghosn (born in Beirut, journalist, writer, editor and musician).
