Maldoror grew up in Lisbon’s underground scene, shaped by theatre, noise, and rebellion. He started out as an actor, circus performer, and band vocalist, but moved from the stage to the DJ booth. When he couldn’t find anyone playing the music he wanted, he decided to create his own world. Rooted in industrial, techno, and electro, his sets oscillate between ritual and riot — body over reason, rhythm over order. Co-founder of Critical Party and creator and driving force behind KVLT, Maldoror conceives, promotes, and curates events that fuse sound, aesthetics, and defiance, turning sound into a form of resistance. He was also the booker of Nada, one of Lisbon’s underground hubs, and the curator of Tumultum, a monthly event series dedicated to experimental and industrial sound. Beyond the booth, Maldoror founded the Dark Fiend Club, a platform exploring dark culture and sound, and hosts DrkInDrk, a long-running podcast that has aired on several international radios. Behind the smoke and strobe, he remains the same: a Lisbon-born storyteller, still searching for the perfect moment between light and decay.
