MIZUNA

About

Hailing from California and a seasoned globetrotter, MIZUNA has been deeply immersed in the underground electronic music scene of San Francisco, Los Angeles, Berlin, Tel Aviv, and Goa since the ‘90s. Her musical inspirations stem from genres such as drum n bass, jungle, trance, IDM, and ambient techno. From the beaches of Goa to outdoor raves tucked away in the far reaches of the Himalayas, she developed a taste for Goa/psytrance, hypnotic techno, breakbeat, and world music, which now flavor her DJ sets. In 2009, she landed in France where she plays the Balinese gamelan, expanding her repertoire to include trance in acoustic form. Concurrently, MIZUNA produces electronic music utilizing analog synthesizers. She showcases her craft through live sets and experimental ambient music performances under the pseudonym OKHOTONA. She is involved in numerous collaborations with other musicians in France. MIZUNA is one of the founding members of the BRUYANTXS Collective and Audiomorphose. As a member of the fourth installment of Sister Act, she continues to promote professional female electronic music producers and DJs based in the French Alps.
