Varist debuted with his retro funky house flavor in October 2023, opening for Book Club Radio's Sleepy Hollow meeting. The video of that set has been viewed over half a million times. Varist returned to Book Club for their 1 year anniversary, delivering a set described as "sick", "disgusting", and "violent", but in all the best ways possible. Varist is also known to DJ pop-ups throughout Brooklyn, was the headliner of the inaugural Wandering Woods festival, played a blistering 5 hour funky house set for the Zuricrit bicycle race in Zurich, Switzerland, and dropped a 2.5 hour house set at Brooklyn's Elsewhere club. He also regularly collabs with State College, PA underground venue The 8Ball, Brooklyn collective PAN!CROOM, and Under The Table NYC. Varist is based in central Pennsylvania but considers himself an NYC DJ with a 4 hour commute. When not traveling, he hosts TGIVarist from his home most Fridays at 3PM US Eastern.
