Balearic Groove

For the April edition of our disco monthly series with @atvrecords we bring you the creators of the “Homies” collective in Ibiza led by @dj_camilo_miranda & @christianlen 💃 🕺 💃 This is both their debut in Miami and their style is loyal to the Balearic groove which is also known as Balearic house, Ibiza house or Ibizan chillout, an eclectic blend of DJ-led dance music that emerged in the mid-1980s 🥁 About @dj_camilo_miranda 🎧 As a so-called ‘Ibiza kid’ he was at ground zero for the endless wave of dance music that hits the Balearic Islands every season. Exploring places like Space, Hostal La Torre, Pacha and Cafe Del Mar. It was in these legendary places that Miranda embraced Balearic music and began to grow as an artist. For five seasons he has held a residency at the infamous Pikes Hotel, warming up for the likes of DJ Harvey, Artwork and many artists with Balearic taste. About @christianlenmusic 🎧 Born and raised in Barcelona, Len began his DJ career playing at venues such as BeCool, Apolo or Razzmatazz and directing the radio stations of Sonar and Primavera Sound. In 2010 he moved to Ibiza in an unexpected script twist and there he discovered the most genuine and unknown face of the White Island making a step forward on the decks from then on.  Always involved in the island stations he was Ibiza Sonica coordinator and Openlab music director.
