Announcing the next Breaking Capacity at Earthly Delights! Presenting: PowerPlay b2b Pump Media Unlimited For their first ever NYC performance, PowerPlay will be appearing at Earthly Delights fresh off of a new release (dropping on Bandcamp next week!) PlayPlay and C Powers first connected years ago bonding over their similar experiences growing up as young queer ravers in the south. These two trans/non-binary comrades felt as if they were cut from the same cloth and shared a love for late 90’s American Drum and Bass, cheesed-out “electronica” and the less-savory staples of the southern rave experience like muddy Kikwear and JNCOs, Mountain Dew at the rave, dehydration, afterparties on racetracks, and 5 a.m. Waffle House visits. They released their first record on Sorry Records in 2021 and have been slow-cooking releases ever since. And since we get to have C Powers in town, we thought - why not have her other collaborator join us too :) C Powers + CH Rom make up Pump Media Unlimited C Powers operates out of a terminal running P Klang G13 creator engine on 69xo, blasting her block-rocking pig-smashing beats straight to mp3 and often in one or less takes, live direct out of Portland but globally present and cybernetically ubiquitous. CH Rom is headquartered in NYC and performs content creation with a refurbished organic matcha-truffle hybrid 96kbps system, playing upwards of 4200 notes a day. Together they are Pump Media Unlimited, widely celebrated in the bass drum scene and known for blistering tempos reaching as high as 420, even 1213 BPM. The Pumps are at once profoundly in touch with the ancient history of bass, and yet notably 65 million years ahead of their time.
