Thursday, July 13, 2023 Doors 10PM Advance Tickets on sale now. Australian DJ, producer and trailblazer Skin On Skin unleashes “Burn Dem Bridges”, an incendiary track that feels like one of the milestone dance records of the year, first heard in his viral AVA Festival Boiler Room set this June. The single dropped on August 12th. Hailing from Brisbane via South Sudan, Skin On Skin has been steadily forming a reputation as one of the most exciting, visionary artists in the landscape right now for his unique, forward-thinking blends of techno, house and alternative hip-hop. The young vanguard now drops one of his most important releases to date, delivering the monumental genre-blending banger “Burn Dem Bridges.” Fusing elements of hard-hitting techno percussion with vocal samples from UK Drill artists Sav’o and Horrid1’s drill anthem “Violent Siblings”, the culture clash record was a stand-out moment from his AVA Boiler Room set, with multiple rips of the track occurring across Soundcloud where it would race to over 1M streams and peak on the SoundCloud charts at #3. Gaining over 15M viral impressions on TikTok with no promo, with “Burn Dem Bridges” the Australian pioneer has created not only a certified club weapon but also a potentially defining moment in Dance culture, able to fuse the growing global relevance of UK Drill into the Dance world, distilling its raw energy and sound into a completely new format. Entering the scene in early 2019 with his bone-shaking debut EP Steel City Dance Discs Volume 9, including his underground classic “Multiply”, Skin On Skin has gone on to release a slew of formidable dance records including the Save Me EP — featuring “Way Ur Touchin Me” (1.3M Spotify streams) and his acclaimed joint project Strangers with fellow Australian (and close friend) Mall Grab. With millions of streams under his belt, 190K+ monthly Spotify listeners and a string of features with the likes of X CLUB, jamesjamesjames and Willaris K., the Australian has already seen successful tour dates across the UK and Europe, iconic sets at Beyond The Valley and Pitch festivals in 2020 and a 12-stop national headline tour last year which sold out in minutes. Skin on Skin now readies himself for a huge new headline tour across Australia and New Zealand before heading to the UK to perform key nights at Warehouse Project, FLY Open Air Festival, Phonox and Koko. “Burn Dem Bridges” feels like the kind of defining moment in Dance culture that happens only rarely and with it Skin On Skin underlines himself as not only a compelling young talent in his own right but also the creator of some of the most forward-thinking sounds in the world right now. Successfully bridging UK Drill into Dance music heralds something genuinely exciting, the potential growing collaboration of two powerhouse UK cultural communities for the first time.
