DA CAPO is an intimate performance and conversation series that brings audiences closer to the lives behind the music. Each evening pairs a carefully curated live set with an honest, open dialogue about creativity, ambition, artistic identity, and the realities of building a life in the arts. Through shared conversation and audience participation, DA CAPO turns a concert into a space for connection and curiosity — a moment to slow down, listen deeply, and appreciate the people, stories, and processes that shape a masterpiece. For our August edition, we are extremely honoured and excited to bring together award-winning singer-songwriter AŸA and Ghanaian-Burkinabé singer-songwriter RIA BOSS for a special B2B performance at CiCi Studios. AŸA (Avia Shoshani) is an award-winning musician, filmmaker, and producer based in Berlin, whose work lives at the crossroads of faith, resilience, and cultural identity. Drawing from her Moroccan and Yemeni roots, she creates music that brings contemporary pop together with deeply personal storytelling. Growing up amid political and personal crisis, AŸA turned to music and visual storytelling as ways to process, connect, and rebuild. Her work transforms difficult truths into emotionally resonant experiences, inviting audiences not only to listen, but to reflect and feel seen. RIA BOSS is a Ghanaian-Burkinabé singer-songwriter celebrated for her soulful blend of neo-soul, jazz, and R&B. Raised in Ghana, she developed her musical practice in New York City before returning to Accra. Her debut live album, REMEMBER (2022), recorded with The Musical Lunatics, received critical acclaim and was named Native Magazine’s Top R&B Album of 2022. She recently released The Waiting Room, a new three-track EP. Beyond music, Ria is a visual artist, radio host, and community architect in Accra. She co-founded Ria Boss Open Mic and works as Creative Lead and Programs Facilitator for Black Girls Glow, creating spaces that nurture community and artistic expression. For this edition of DA CAPO, AŸA and RIA BOSS will meet in a unique B2B setting — bringing together two distinct voices, backgrounds, and artistic worlds for an intimate evening of music, exchange, and improvisation. Following the performance, we’ll open the space for an honest conversation around identity, resilience, creativity, community, and what it means to build an artistic life today.
