Coming from the school of American DJs like Josh Wink and Doc Martin, Three has a wide ranging musical palate akin to Andrew Weatherall or Laurent Garnier, and was featured as part of DJ Times Magazines DJX20 Anniversary profile series as one of twenty DJs who embody the spirit of the American underground along such contemporaries as Josh Wink and Claude Von Stroke. Aside from his natural ability on the decks, Three sets himself apart from the rest of the pack by presenting eclectic sounds with an open-minded attitude towards everything he does. From DJ sets to musical output, Three is a “DJ’s DJ” who has always leaned toward the cutting edge without losing touch with the roots of house and techno.
An upstate New Yorker, Öona Dahl frequented the Toronto Rave Scene which inspired her to learn how to mix records. Soon after, she was playing at clubs and underground raves by the age of 17. The early 2000s saw her move down to Florida, where she would go on to meet DJ Three. 2012 saw her Let The Light In EP released on Lee Burridge’s All Day I Dream, where Öona was often entrusted to play the closing set. This sound was cemented with further EPs released on Anjunadeep. In 2017 Öona’s efforts caught the ear of DJ Three and before long she was signed to an album deal with his Hallucienda imprint. Her debut artist album Holograma soon followed revealing a full body of work by an artist who had now found both her feet and, her voice across the full spectrum of electronic music.
Moving into 2021, Öona Dahl has since delivered a wave of new sounds. Her self-released Road to Awe EP on Bandcamp and the Godtripper EP on Watergate Records deliver deep, bouncing grooves with a subtle acid touch beneath her unique vocal textures. As Slumber, her collaboration with Amber Cox, their ability to balance darkness with the light is deftly explored on their XLR8R+ track ‘Fell Into A Dream’ and the Twin Moon EP via modern balearic house imprint Rumors. Öona has been intensely working toward the arrival of her highly-anticipated sophomore album Morph on Hallucienda. Picking up where Holograma left off, Morph finds Oona delivering her most adventurous body of work yet, as her songwriting acumen expands from spectacular, vocal-led electronica into offerings of indie dance.

ABOUT THE ARTISTS:
DJ Three:
Three has been tirelessly holding the flag for underground electronic music in the US since his rise out of the sunny state of Florida in the early 90’s. In that time, he’s emerged as one of the brightest DJ talents in the US and continues to be a true inspiration for many of us. Threes tour dates show both diversity in audience and a genre-bending passion for good music; he’s held residencies at NYCs Twilo, Cielo (Robots), Love and Blk Market Membership, as well as Florida’s legendary Simons club and the 10 years running Snatch night in Tampa while playing lauded guest spots at San Francisco’s Wicked party, Fabric (UK), Panorama Bar (Berlin), Club Eleven (Tokyo), Blk Market Membership (NYC) and forward thinking events like Japan’s Labyrinth Festival and Australia’s Rainbow Serpent Festival.

Öona Dahl:
As a young girl in upstate New York, Öona Dahl was fascinated with music and became obsessed with listening to old cassette tapes in her living room. This passion quickly evolved and before long she began making musical sketches in Acid Pro and Fruity Loops.
Wanting to experience electronic music on the dance floor, many excursions into the Toronto rave scene were made. Inspired by the DJ’s around her, she bought a pair of turntables and set about learning to mix records. Soon she was playing clubs, raves and warehouses at the age of 17. These formative years crystallized Öona’s love of underground dance music.
