Devoid of distraction, centered in nowhere, built to hide, sought for ecstasy, FORMA FESTIVAL lives. FORMA FESTIVAL harmoniously constructs an exploratory space — one where music and environment fuse, where function reveals beauty, and where the discipline of Techno finds its reflection in the land. Focused on the sound of our region's principal Techno artists, backed by a select system of visual stimuli, and carried by the wonderfully fresh air of a central Maryland afternoon, FORMA FESTIVAL introduces itself on October 25th. Ten performances, featuring our scene’s key DJs, will showcase Techno and its kindred styles. This select lineup represents forward-thinking Techno while embodying the true spirit of our local energy. These powerful artists have shaped their communities with their craft, making a difference in the sounds — and souls — of their spaces. They are at the forefront of the discipline. An essence of community, expressiveness, direction, and purpose creates a memorable space. Views of rolling hills, farmland, horses, tree lines, and fresh air, crafted with authenticity, frame FORMA FESTIVAL as it removes unnecessary stimuli and focuses on the sounds on display. In a never-before-seen Berghain configuration, Eklektik Elektrik’s TurboSound system will ring through our barn. Nestled in Boyds, Maryland, The Garage, set between rolling hills, forest, and farm, will serve as our hub. This indoor-outdoor space features our dance floor, surrounded by artist booths, vendor stalls, and recreational areas. From 12:00 until 23:00, ten musical performances will take place alongside multiple visual experiences. Food, non-alcoholic and alcoholic beverages, and free water will be served by TalkAboutItBar, while SafeCircles Harm Reduction will attend to your festival safety needs. We will offer free water, encouraging patrons to bring their empty bottles, and reusable bottles will be available for purchase on-site.
