One of the most important underground labels to come out of London in the last 3 years joins forces with Infra Boston to launch “Instinct”: A new regular event dedicated to the darker underground sounds of techno, electro, EBM, acid, industrial & everything in between. For Chapter One, we are delighted to invite one of the world’s most important artists & music connoisseurs of the techno scene. // CHLOE LULA - TRESOR RECORDS, RESIDENT ADVISOR San Francisco-born, Berlin-based artist Chloe Lula is at the vanguard of a sound-melding hard-edged techno with breaks, acid, electro, and EBM. She started producing her first live sets in 2019, when she completed a month-long artist residency with Drew McDowall of Coil. The experience ignited her confidence in composition and allowed her to combine her classical cello training with electronics, melding granular synthesis with acoustic riffs and metallic percussion to create an alloyed brand of droned-out industrial electronica. As a DJ, Chloe has played at Berghain, Tresor, Reaktor, Boiler Room, Movement weekend in Detroit, and countless clubs, festivals, and DIY parties across Europe and North America. She’s performed regularly alongside artists like Silent Servant, DJ Hell, UVB, Kangding Ray, and Thomas P Heckmann, becoming known for atmospheric sets that dig deep into the niche recesses of techno, electro, wave, industrial, and experimental music. In addition to her career as a musician, she is also the Managing Editor of Resident Advisor, the Critical Beats columnist at The Wire, and a selector for her monthly radio show, ‘No Exit,’ on Refuge Worldwide. // ANGEL ATTACK - HOUSE OF REPTILE RECORDS Angel Attack is a British/Brazilian London & Boston-based producer, DJ, and House of Reptile Records founder. Known for his bewitching sound and dark-tinted aesthetic, bleeding into techno, EBM, electro, synth-wave, and post-punk, masterfully mixed in his four decks sets that create a complex and powerful narrative. His first album, “Divine Practicalities,” offers an insight into his nebulous underworld, affirming his open-minded approach in the studio. The album was given 5 stars by Upperberry & Groove Magazine.
