Sobre nosotros
Just a month after the release of their second album in March 2024, ‘Se Meu Peito Fosse O Mundo’ (If My Chest Were the World), featuring Xênia França and Gilsons, Jota.pê reached the milestone of over 2.5 million plays on Spotify. Recorded and created in partnership with Som Livre, the music was produced by Felipe Vassão, Rodrigo Lemos and Marcus Preto. The album received three nominations for this year's Latin Grammy Awards and was honoured in three categories: Best Brazilian Popular Music/Afro-Brazilian Music Album, Best Recording Engineering Album and Best Portuguese Language Song with ‘Ouro Marrom’. Jota.pê also competed in the Multishow 2024 Awards with four nominations: Album of the Year, Breakthrough Artist; and MPB of the Year with two tracks: the hit Ouro Marrom and Feito Maré (feat with Gilsons). He is currently performing a re-recording of ‘Carinhoso’ in the soap opera ‘A Garota do Momento’. With influences ranging from Jorge Ben to Caetano Veloso and passing through Chico Science's manguebeat, the Osasco-born artist released his first work in 2015: the album ‘Crônicas de um Sonhador’ (Chronicles of a Dreamer). As a solo artist, the singer had a very successful appearance on TV Globo's ‘The Voice Brasil’, and was considered by Lulu Santos to be one of the best voices of all the programme's seasons. The following year, after several performances in Brazil, the singer made his first European tour, with tickets sold out at every show. He has now toured the European continent three times. Alongside his solo work, Jota.pê is vocalist, composer and guitarist in the duo ÀVUÀ, where he shares the spotlight with his friend Bruna Black. This partnership earned them both a Latin Grammy nomination in 2021 for their album Onze, which brings together great performers such as Elza Soares and Zeca Baleiro. That same year, the duo was invited to take part in ColorsxStudios, one of the biggest music channels in the world.
