New Year's is always one for the books at 233. This year, we host 14 hours of sounds across the house and bass music spectrum from voices new and old. Cassy and her distinctive soul-meets-groove style headline The Sound Room. A trailblazing DJ whose career has surpassed two decades of vinyl-forward club culture, Cassy's collection, too large to be unearthed, is cemented by raw edges and steamy pads. Detroit house don Scott Grooves goes back-to-back with UK-based Hidden Spheres. From opposite sides of the pond, the two share a crate-diggers toolbox of Detroit house. Where Grooves brings the jazz, funk, and soul, Spheres touches synths, retro drum machines, and the blissed-out euphoria of early prog. Jenifa Mayanja sets the vibe. Her spiritual and organic take on deep house is derived from roots in East Africa and time as a thought leader in New York's underground, where she has been placing women at the forefront since the mid '90s through work as a DJ, producer, and label owner. In The Atrium, three individuals within the contemporary underground spin their unique takes on bass, UKG, and tech: Objekt makes his debut at Public Records. The Berlin-based artist is known for his crystalline, genre-defying productions, and his newly-minted label Kapsela follows suit with audacious, experimental club music. Just as beloved are his DJ sets, which tend to shapeshift between hard-charging bass and precision techno. Recognized by DJ Mag and Resident Advisor for her garage productions, Introspekt's early start in LA's dubstep scene has blossomed into a globally-renowned respect for her artistry as both a DJ and producer [T4T LUV NRG, Tempa]. Expect nothing less than a club-thumping start to 2026. Scene-staple deep creep completes her 2025 residency with a psychadelic, slow-build to midnight. The pi pi pi founder's reputation for ego-free, seamless, and intuitive DJing has made her a reliable favorite, whether pumping out sexy minimal or chugging through steamy late-night techno. Deemed a "modern-day renaissance man" by The Kennedy Center, Rich Medina is a sonic storyteller par excellence. UPSTAIRS, the platinum-selling record producer, poet, journalist, and Ivy League lecturer and his 50,000-strong collection takes us on a lesson through hip-hop, house, Afrobeat, funk, and soul, unearthing one musical gem after another. - Public Records aims to provide a safer space.
