Immerse yourself in the warmth, joy, and rhythms of Brazil’s beloved Festa Junina!


Brazil is known for Carnival, but did you know that Festa Junina* is just as big of a celebration? Every June, the festivities take over Brazil with forró music, quadrilha dances, bonfires, traditional foods, costumes, and cultural rituals.


Now, Group Dot BR, New York’s only Brazilian theater company, brings this iconic celebration to life with Opa! Festa Juninaan immersive 8-hour event full of music, dance, performances, art and delicious food. Oh—and did we mention a bit of a theatrical dispute brewing? Let’s just say the goddess Juno and São João have very different opinions about whose party this really is...

🕺 Forró group crash course & Quadrilha dance lead by Sabrina Evangelista – Learn the steps on the spot and own the dancefloor!

💃 Full forró intro class offered by Forró New York  as part of Forró New York Weekend!

🐮 The Bumba Meu Boi puppet comes to life on the dance floor!

💌 Correio Elegante (Elegant Mail) – Feeling flirty? Send a secret message to your crush or a sweet note to a friend through Santo Antônio, the matchmaking saint!

🎯 Traditional Festa Junina Games – Test your luck and skill at classic Brazilian party games!

🎨 Visual Arts presented by Angelica Walke Projects! 

🌽 Traditional June Party Food – Enjoy Brazilian treats like canjica, paçoca, pé de moleque, and more!

👧🧒 Family friendly! Kids accompanied by legal guardians are welcome from 3 - 6 PM! Kids under 12 years old don’t pay to come in! | 21 + after 6 PM


*Brought to Brazil by the Portuguese, this harvest celebration mixed with African and Indigenous traditions to become a unique and diverse Brazilian cultural manifestation.
