Sobre nosotros
Facing the world, facing adversity, yet finding community, is a collective experience shared by all queers, from every culture and walk of life, it is part of our survival, and gay history. Clubbing has always been part of that fight. From the bars to underground house parties, dancefloors were some of the first places where we could gather, organize, and exist freely. Our joy was resistance, community was resistance, our existence is resistance. To commemorate the Pride we earned, and to celebrate ourselves, even when sometimes it feels hard to do, let's gather again under a disco ball until a new dawn. We celebrate Pride at Those Who Dance for an extended party, on June 6, where freedom of being is encouraged, where house music lives on, where love and friendship always win. Kicking off the night, Mayan will start the engines. Resident at Fresca and ELA, and as part of Female Pressure in Portugal, Mayan helps to spotlight gender diversity in the art and music scene. With us, she shares her own blend of house and electronica from Lisbon's underground. Our headliner, Ketiov, the brain behind Carbs (Madrid), one-half of house duo Catz 'n Dogz, producer, with residencies held in Berlin and at My Pleasure parties. Ketiov always keeps it hot with thumping rhythms and fat basslines, just how we like it. Keeping us keeping on, QM resident AZM brings his chunky basslines and deep kickdrums house music, but always keeping it soulful. And joining us again, queen of the night, Chima Isaaro, weaving uplifting grooves and textured house music like no-other. Closing the party, we have the pleasure of having Yizhaq with us once again, a force in Lisbon's queer underground, promising to keep the groove on and carrying through breakfast. Our queens, Mary Poppers and Tandy 3000, are joined by newcomers Fuforona 3000 and Olivia Puntz. These four will ensure there's always "drama on the dancefloor". Pride matters. In a world where love is still criminalized around the world, coming together in unity and joy is a powerful thing. Clubbing echoes our struggles, heals, and shelters our bodies and souls. And always remember, our mere existence is resistance. Join our Pride on June 6th, at Those Who Dance, from 23h until the last diva standing 🏳️‍🌈🪩🏳️‍⚧️
