Sapphic Panic! At The Dyke Bar

Ooooo, talking to girls* at the club, oooo scaaary! We gather once more at Tommy's for a celebration of all things ooky and scary (like running into your ex) A % of our ticket sales will go towards Florida Immigrant Coalition this hispanic heritage month, supporting their hard work fostering the connection, capacity, and consciousness of communities to strengthen pro-immigrant power in Florida With performances throughout the night, a best dressed contest and DJ sets to make you howl at the moon for more. IMPORTANT: This is a dyke centered event, every one that identifies as such is welcome. We wont police or question anyone at the door but we expect that our guests and allies who don't identify as such respect the space and the dykes in attendance. Please be kind, don't be a hater. Why is fundraising important to our dyke community? Lesbian-led fundraising has been a cornerstone of LGBTQ+ activism, often emerging in times of crisis and solidarity with other marginalized groups. In the 1980s, during the HIV/AIDS epidemic, lesbians, raised hundreds of donations and inspired similar groups across the U.S. When the world abandoned our own, we were the ones to show up. This time a % of our ticket sales is going towards PreventionX to support AIDS/HIV awareness and prevention in South Florida in observance of Southern HIV/AIDS Awareness Day (August 20th) and National Gay Men HIV/AIDS Awareness and Prevention Month. We have a history of solidarity with our communities and Tommy’s is our way to continue that legacy in the pursue of queer joy and actually tangible community building. A reminder that this event centers and celebrates dykes of all paths and life experiences. This is one of the very few nights a month we are able to gather and celebrate each other while centering dykehood, if you don't identify as a dyke please be mindful of the space you occupy as an ally or non-dyke identifying member of the LGBTQ+ community.
