Victor Mallet is a British author and journalist, he is currently senior editor, world news, at the Financial Times. Previously he was the FT’s Paris bureau chief. In his new book "Far-right France : Le Pen, Bardella, and the Future of Europe" he tells the story of the French far right's rise, from the woes of a broken society to the powerful personalities upending the status quo. In next year's French presidential election, the far-right Rassemblement National is favoured to win. In 2024, the RN became the largest party in both the EU Parliament and the French Assembly.
