ubiyu kicks off their 2025 schedule with Ukranian Shakolin, with warm ups by Jay Berd and Manzo. We're brining out the danely sound system and going late for this one! Join us as we throw the first party of the year! Shakolin is a long-time resident DJ of Closer club and the founder of Closer Record Store (defunct since 2023 due to his relocation from Kyiv to Berlin). With over 15 years of playing records and running the record store so loved by the most discerning diggers, it’s no surprise that his knowledge of electronic music will match one of a librarian. That perfectly shows in Shakolin’s DJ sets abounding in old and new sounds - functional yet never straight-up club music, his records are a journey that’s deep and mystical, groovy and freakish.
